Hazardous Tree Removal in Common Areas
The hazardous tree removal in the common areas will start on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 by Native Restorations. They will continue throughout the winter, weather permitting. The tree committee (John Lucas, Justin Beger, Sue Ebert and Joe Sturonas) walked the entire property on Saturday, September 24, 2016 and October 8, 2016. We were accompanied by an Arborist that helped us to identify hazardous trees in the common area. We have prioritized the dead trees that are a threat to property versus those that are not a threat to property. We have tagged the trees with a number, as a means of an inventory which can be found below.

Village of Green Oaks Votes in favor of Off Track Betting
On June 22, 2016, the Village of Green Oaks voted to allow Off Track Betting at the location now occupied by Fatman Bowl, which is approximately 1,100 feet from Rondout Elementary School. The Trustees that voted AYE to allow Off Track Betting were Bryan Muskat, Rich Glogovsky, John Wagener and Pamela M. Milroy. The only NYE was from Gwen Jader. Daniel Sugrue was absent from the meeting and did not cast a vote. The comments prior to the vote by Bryan Muskat and John Wagener were mostly focused on the financial benefits. Comments from Village residents against OTB mostly cited close proximity to schools, potential for increased crime, and damage to the brand of the Village of Green Oaks.

Ash Tree Treatment
The Glenmore Woods Homeowners Association Board has approved the treatment of approximately 36 Ash trees in the neighborhood. The board has been treating the Ash trees in 2012 and 2014 and will continue the recommended treatments in 2016. The treatments will occur after June 1st, once the contractor has been able to do an assessment of the 36 Ash trees, and determine they are all healthy enough for the treatments. It is unknown to arborists whether the Emerald Ash Borer can sustain on the smaller Ash trees, or vacate due to lack of sustenance. Glenmore Woods is continuing the fight to keep the Ash trees alive that are in our neighborhood.

2016 AGM Meeting Minutes
Buckthorn Eradication February 2016
Native Restoration has begun the first stage of the Buckthorn Eradication project between the two ponds (referred to as Area 2 in the aerial map from the October board meeting) and then will proceed to Area 3, the area between Ashford Drive and Windmere Court. As a reminder, these areas were chosen first due to the atheistic appeal it could bring, as well as the safety implications especially for areas 2 and 3. The safety implications are noted due to the lack of illumination at night due to the over growth of buckthorn blocking illumination from street lights and homes.

Assessments 2016
The Glenmore Woods Homeowners Association announced an assessment increase. The Glenmore Woods board has been able to achieve a reserve equal to nearly one year of operating income over the last 11 years, whereas 11 years ago we had nothing in reserves. We have taken a very conservative approach to building up reserves without any special assessments or unreasonable increases in monthly assessments. This reserve is essential to protecting the interests of our community from unforeseen events.
