- Status on Native Restorations buckthorn clearing
-
- Awaiting three stewardships this year in areas 2 and 3
- Action Item: Joe to verify if Native Restorations seeded in areas 2 or area 3
- Hazardous tree removal in common area status

- Mr. Nielson at 28550 Oakhaven Ct
- Mr. Willis at 28578 Scarborough Dr
- Mr. Caldwell at 28584 Ashford Ct
- Potential Remediations
-
- 1. One time special assessment to clean up felled trees in the common area. Based on previous estimates, it would cost approximately $40K or a one time special assessment of $740/homeowner.
- 2. One time special assessment to clean up felled trees for common area for homeowners that do not want the free firewood they would cut up themselves. Assuming half of the trees would be claimed by homeowners, that would be a one time special assessment of approximately $20K or $370/homeowner.
- 3. Organize neighborhood work weekends where neighbors willing to pitch in clean up the trees in common areas as volunteer work. Depending on the number of volunteers, with at least 3 chainsaws, it would take less then 2 weekends to clear the common areas.
- 4. Budget for next year for common area clean ups that are not claimed by homeowners for free firewood at approximately $20K
- Action Items
-
- Define Scope of homes the require and want remediation (Joe)
- Based on the scope, determine best course of remediation (All)
- Bartlett Tree Experts proposal to treat 36 remaining Ash trees.
-
- Joe motioned to proceed with proposal, Bruce seconded, no one opposed.
- Action Item: Sarah to execute proposal to treat Ash trees in common area.
- LCFP boarder markings along trail status
-
- Issues:
-
- 1. Resolve the tax we are paying on Outlot C
- 2. Cleanup of felled trees in Outlot C
- 3. Issue of swing set on Outlot C
- Action Items:
-
- Issue 1: Sarah to trace who collects Skokie Drainage Tax. Advise with LCFP, that LCFP now pays that tax. Seek back payment from LCFP for the 21 years we have been paying tax on Outlot C.
- Issue 2: Glenmore Woods felled the dead trees in the interest of safety, not knowing Glenmore Woods was not responsible for Outlot C. Either LCFP does the cleanup, or we do the cleanup. I think this is just a conversation with Erik. Sarah to setup up meeting with LCFP and HOA Board
- Issue 3: Joe to explain to Paul Willis the situation. Discuss with LCFP and HOA Board.
- Open Board Positions
-
- John Lucas has resigned as board member. We thank John Lucas for his more than 15 years serving the Glenmore Woods HOA.
- Martin Caldwell and JV Proesel appointed to fill the 2 open board positions. Joe motions for appointment, Bruce Watts seconds the appointment, all approve, no one objects.
- Bruce Watts resigns as board member. We thank Bruce for his more than 5 years serving the Glenmore Woods HOA.
- Joe Sturonas appoints Roy Ladd, Sue Ebert seconds the appointment, no one opposed.
- We thank our new board members for their generosity and service.
- Pond Maintenance Status
-
- East pond looks bad
- West pond looks good
- Sue reports that the drainage ditch is clogged
- Jeff reports that phragmites are impacting the other two un-maintained ponds
- Action Item: Joe to contact Native Restorations for assessment of 2 un-maintained ponds
- Action Item: Sarah to contact contractor to see if drainage pipe is clogged
- Mulch for common area status
-
- Action Item: check with Sarah on proposal
- Investment strategy for reserve fund
-
- Recommend we consider two CDs of different terms and put $35k in each. Perhaps a one year and a two year. I see a two year at 1.6% with Capital One, whose one year rate of 1.3% matches Ally, at least as of today. That would leave $29k in checking. We should check the early withdrawal language.
- Action Item: Sarah to advise if the HOA can consider more aggressive investment vehicles than CD's
- Additional business
-
- None
