- Announcement: Resolution of the Illinois Department of Human Rights Matter
The Glenmore Woods Homeowners Association announces that a matter previously before the Illinois Department of Human Rights has been resolved. The issue has been settled between the parties. In reaching this resolution, the Association has not admitted to any violation of the Illinois Human Rights Act or any other law, nor any wrongdoing. The terms of the settlement are confidential. The Board considers the matter closed.

What This Means

- 2025 Review
- Completed one stewardship for areas 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 on June 19 & 20.
- Green Oaks Update
Due to resource constraints, there are no immediate plans for Metra or Amtrak to consider a Rondout station adjacent to Rt. 176.
- Landscaping Committee update

- Kinnucan began as our landscaping vendor in April
- Target of Monday/Tuesday for landscaping maintenance and Thursday for mowing
- Weather has not cooperated to support mow schedule, requiring two mowing days on Saturday
- Kinnucan monitors rainfall levels and selects mow day to minimize damage to grass
- HOA will better communicate changes in mowing days to residents
- Activities to date:
- Spring clean-up
- Pre-emergent application
- Edging of beds
- Two grass weed & feed treatments
- Shrub pruning now underway through mid-July
- Common area mulch (Lucas)
- Generally very favorable feedback, even from residents who did not use prior lawn service
- Thoroughness of spring cleanup
- Politeness of crew
- Overall attractiveness of lawns and common areas
- As expected, a few issues as the new crew learns our neighborhood
- Kinnucan has been very responsive to feedback
- Communication from our account manager to HOA has been very strong
- Future Lanscape Focus
- Summer: Updates to the front entrance beds
- Winter: Recommending dormant pruning of common area shrubs
- Financial Update
Financials are available to homeowners upon request from the property manager
- Open Forum

- Discussed communication with the homeowner about the overgrown landscaping with no grass. The HOA will provide two quotes for how they can remediate, as the homeowners were unclear on how to proceed.
- Discussed the question regarding phase 2 of the plan and the progress with the quiet zone at Rt. 176
- Update after meeting: Phase 1 has not yet been completed. The village is in the process of obtaining additional resources to push this project. Phase 1 is now scheduled to be completed at the end of this calendar year.
- North Chicago voted on a proposal for a portion of the city for heavy industrial use. Surrounding communities are opposed and looking at legal options to block. We will follow up with representatives from the Village of Green Oaks.
