Kinnucan is starting its partnership with Glenmore Woods in 2025. They start in April (Spring Cleaning), and their contracted services for the year are below. They go through November for Fall cleanup. This year, Glenmore Woods' service days will be Monday for maintenance and Thursday for mowing, weather permitting.
Kinnucan Landscaping Services for Glenmore Woods HOA
Glenmore Woods HOA has partnered with Kinnucan for professional landscaping services for the 2025 season. As part of this contract, Kinnucan will be responsible for maintaining the common areas and private lawns of all 54 homes in the community. Below is a summary of the key services homeowners can expect under this agreement.
Scheduled Landscaping Services
Kinnucan’s services are structured around a seasonal schedule to ensure optimal landscape health and appearance.
1. Spring Cleanup
- Removal of leaves, debris, and dead growth from prior seasons.
- Sweeping and blowing of walkways, drives, and patios.
- Pruning of ornamental trees up to 10 feet.
- Clearing and cultivating plant beds with a pre-emergent herbicide application.
- Lawn debris removal, bare spot seeding, and disposal of all collected material.
2. Pre-Emergent Weed Control (1 Visit)
- A premium granular, slow-release herbicide will be applied in early spring to all plant beds to suppress weed growth.
3. Mowing
- Weekly mowing (Thursdays, weather permitting) to maintain a 3-inch turf height.
- Clippings will be mulched or removed to maintain a clean appearance.
- Trimming around sidewalks, driveways, and landscape beds.
- Blowing grass clippings off hard surfaces and ensuring all debris is removed.
4. Bed Maintenance
- Ground cover trimming twice per season. (Mondays, weather permitting)
- Spot-weeding of plant beds weekly to maintain a well-kept look. (rotational basis by street)
- Seasonal pruning of shrubs and hedges (up to 8 feet in height):
- Deciduous shrubs are pruned after flowering.
- Hedges are sheared twice per season (June & August).
- Bed edging is done once per year in common areas and on homeowner beds.
5. Fertilization & Weed Control (4 Visits)
- Early Spring: Use a Granular, slow-release fertilizer with pre-emergent for crabgrass control.
- Late Spring & Early Summer: Liquid broadleaf weed control.
- Early Fall: Granular fertilizer with spot weed control.
6. Fall Cleanup
- Final mowing at 2.5-inch height.
- Weekly leaf blowing and collection from lawns and common areas.
- Perennials are cut back based on species and winter landscape needs.
- Cleanup of all hard surfaces, guest parking, and removal of fallen leaves and debris.
Standards of Performance
Kinnucan adheres to industry best practices and follows guidelines from the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association, the International Society of Arboriculture, and the Tree Care Industry Association. A Kinnucan supervisor will conduct regular inspections to maintain quality.
Homeowner Responsibilities
- Watering: Homeowners are responsible for watering lawns and plants. Kinnucan provides guidance but does not handle ongoing irrigation.
- Underground Utilities: Homeowners must mark private utilities (e.g., sprinkler systems, invisible fences) to prevent damage.
- Additional Cleanups: If extra cleanups are needed due to storm damage, excessive leaf drop, or other issues, they will be provided at an additional cost.
- Opt-Out of Services: If homeowners would like to opt out of any landscaping services performed by Kinnucan, please communicate those services to Sarah McMaster.
