  • Yellowstone Landscaping Services Update

Lucy Lara, Guest from Yellowstone Landscaping

As we head into fall, crews will work to cut back perennials as needed. If any homeowner wants Perennial grasses to be cut down, please let Lucy or Sarah know. A leaf truck will clean up leaf piles on our regular mowing day.

Question: For next year, can the crew come later in the week instead of Monday because our landscaping is pretty long by the weekend?
Answer: Lucy responded that she can work with the Production Manager to move our mow day to later in the week.

Question: What is the end date for contracted services from Yellowstone for the 2023 growing season?
Answer: November 30th, but if additional services are required, they can be extended for a fee.

Question: Will the mowers be going to a lower setting?
Answer: They usually go to a lower setting in November

  • Flock Safety Update

A camera system that is motion activated and takes high-resolution pictures (not video) with License Plate Reader Cameras. The pictures are uploaded to the Flock Safety cloud to which Glenmore Woods has access. The pictures are uploaded over LTE, so we don't have to worry about an Internet connection.

Installation of camera occurred on 4/14/2023

All homeowners are welcome to a Flock Safety account, which allows you to search the camera for activity and view Insights, including Hot List Hits, Plate Reads, etc.

Hot List Hits include stolen vehicles/plates or vehicles with an outstanding warrant, amber alert, and silver alert. On Sunday, September 24th, there were 27 Hot List Hits in the last 30 days.

  • Native Restoration Update

One Stewardship for Areas 1, 2, 3, 4
Two Stewardships for Areas 5
Seeding for Area 5

  • Solar aeration system for the pond

Why is aeration in a pond beneficial?
It helps improve water quality. Aeration increases the oxygen levels in the water, which helps to break down organic matter and reduce algae growth. This can lead to clearer water and better fish health.
It helps to prevent winter fish kills. When a pond freezes over in the winter, the oxygen levels in the water can drop to dangerously low levels. Aeration can help to keep the water oxygenated and prevent winter fish kills.
It helps to improve the overall appearance of the pond. Aeration can help to reduce algae growth and improve water clarity, which can lead to a more aesthetically pleasing pond.

Looking at this as a net zero means the aeration should offset the pond maintenance costs.

Action Item: Sarah to check contractors for Bubbler System
