We are pleased to share some positive news regarding our efforts to establish a quiet zone for train horns adjacent to our community we received from Rich Glogovsky. This update represents the first step in a larger initiative to improve the quality of life for all residents of the area.
Key Points:
Approval from EJ&E Train Line: We have received approval from the EJ&E train line that they will no longer blow their train horns on the tracks near the west side of Glenmore Woods.
Progress, But More Work Ahead: While this is a significant achievement, it's important to note that the EJ&E line is one of three different train lines that use these tracks. Their service in our area is irregular, but this agreement marks an important first step.
Next Steps: The Village of Green Oaks will continue efforts to work with the other two train lines to adopt similar practices.
