ImageAt the December 2007 Glenmore Woods Homeowners meeting, the board approved the remediation of trees that pose a safety concern in the common areas. The remediation was to be done by Bartlett Tree Experts. This was to be completed over 2 winters. There is only 2 month period where Oaks can be worked on, February and March. Last year we completed the first phase in February 2008. Bartlett will complete our hazardous tree remediation in February or March 2009 depending on the weather.
The work to be performed by Bartlett Tree Experts includes maintenance pruning according to the American National Standard Institute for Tree Care Operations (ANSI-A300). Clearing will include branches 1/2" in diameter and larger. The work also includes cabling trees that adjusted, as well as removing trees that cannot be maintained.

When felling trees among healthy trees, Bartlett will do their best to find a path for the tree to fall that will create little or no damage to surrounding trees.  Sometimes it isn't completely possible, but they try hard to avoid damage to neighboring trees.

The trees will be cut about a foot from the ground for the first cut, then Bartlett will come back after the snow is gone and flush cut as close to the ground as possible.

When they cut the trees down, they try to leave them as if nature had knocked them down.  If one comes to rest on another neighboring tree, they will leave it if doing so won't hurt that tree and there is no risk of it falling the rest of the way by itself. As was discussed in the homeowners meetings, the boards primary concern is safety. The expense to remove the fallen trees is not in line with the safety concerns we are trying to remediate at this point in time. The board's primary goals  are:

1. Safety
2. Preservation
3. Aesthetics
